About me:
I am currently a law student entering my final year of law school. I chose McGill Law because I wanted to study more than one legal system; McGill offers a transsystemic and bijuridical law program where students study English common law and Quebec civil law.
I recently finished a summer associateship with the firm Fried Frank based in New York City. I will be moving to New York in the Fall of 2021 to start working as a full-time associate with Fried Frank, in sha Allah. My firm is a corporate law firm situated in New York’s financial district. I intend to work primarily in the litigation department. I enjoyed litigation because I enjoy research and writing. Ever since undergrad, the main skills I developed was in researching and writing and I found litigation to be an extension of this kind of work.
In the past, I worked for the Ontario government. I started off as a Programs Analyst in the Ministry of Citizenship, Immigration, and International Trade. I then moved to the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services to work as a Business Analyst and Financial Advisor. After government, I tutored the LSAT at a tutoring agency before finally applying to law school.
I’m happy to chat about my experiences in-depth for those who wish to contact me.
